Resort Hotels: Fun And Relaxation Intensified?
Resort hotels differ from your average hotel in a number of ways, all of which
revolve around the picturesque vacation destination. Resort hotels and the
resorts that accompany them are usually sun filled outdoor retreats where
visitors can explore, have fun or just relax by the water’s edge with a few
martinis. Not all resort hotels are built upon naturally occurring vacation
attractions, like the Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls, yet have resort-like
services and amenities. This second type of resort hotel is likely to center on
spa treatments, though full resorts typically have spa services as well.
For your next resort vacation, why not stay at one of the leading resort hotels
for that area? Not only can you book rooms closer to the activities, but many
times there are several package deals so that you can save additional money on
car rentals, sightseeing excursions and other local services. Resort hotels are
also more likely to be higher grade hotels with full service and amenities.
There are certainly a higher percentage of five star hotels among resort hotels
than without the ‘resort’ classification.

There are some invaluable website travel services where you can compare the
packages and prices of several different resort hotels all from the comfort of
your home or office computer. I have not found a top notch, resort hotel
specific travel website yet, and results for resort hotels seem better accessed
by searching for “resort hotels” and adding the location name as well, such as
“Phoenix” or “phoenix, Arizona”. This will pull up many comparison resort hotel
websites specifically for your chosen destination.
There are some very helpful websites online where you can compare and contrast
the various spa and luxury hotels in your destination area. Who says you have to
leave home to get away. Why not book a weekend long retreat to a luxury hotel in
your own city?
When in doubt, you can always try one of the large travel websites, such as
Travelocity or Expedia. Though it will take a little bit of fancy search
filtering, you should be able to come up with a list of resort hotels for given
locations as well. In fact, this option may be more fruitful, as you will be
able to pull borderline hotels that may not be classified as ‘resort hotels’ per
se.
